Thermal Imaging can find missing insulation, hidden moisture or electrical hotspots.
Keeping a house warm in cold climates is an energy-intensive task. People often use fireplaces or thermostats to keep their homes at comfortable temperatures. In such cases, the insulation of the house is of critical importance.

A house lacking insulation allows heat to escape rapidly, forcing the home owner to spend money  to keep the interiors of their homes or businesses warm. If we calculate the increase in heating (or cooling) costs over a span of months, the costs can be substantial.

Hidden water leaks can become expensive repairs when left undiscovered. For example, water leaking from pipes in a wall can cause serious damage and can even affect the structural integrity of a home or business. In most cases, these conditions remain undiscovered until serious damage has been done.  Even if no structural damage mould will certainly be an issue that has to be dealt with.

Hidden behind the walls of your home or business are electrical cables supplying lights and switches. When an electrical circuit is overloaded, or if some type of damage to the wiring has occurred, then hot spots can occur which if not repaired can lead to fires or other electrical issues. Many businesses will periodically check the temperature of their electrical panels and electrical equipment to insure that everything is in good working order. Thermal imagers can expose these hotspots, as the surface of the wall will have a different surface temperature compared to the rest of the wall.  Prevention is not only common sense but can save the owner of a building a lot of money.

The typical home inspection will typically take a minimum of 2 to 3 hours on site (depending on size and age of home) to complete. We are the first Inspection firm in Simcoe County to offer and include Infrared Thermal Imaging (infrared camera) with our inspections. We encourage you to attend the inspection and we gladly anticipate answering your questions.

Find out more about the Inspection Process
I guarantee to provide the highest level of professional home inspection and commercial inspection services available. I will spend more time inspecting and talking with you than most home inspectors to reduce your uncertainties about the investment you are making as much as possible. You will get an education as well as an inspection if you accompany me on the inspection.

I encourage you to attend your Midland home inspection. When you attend the inspection you get a first hand education on all the major installed components of your new home.  It also gives you a better frame of reference and connection to the detailed report we provide. The report contains pictures of every issue and deficiency. Understanding the implications of a problem can help you better understand the costs and trades people required to fix issues.
