Poor or missing soffit ventilation has allowed moisture to collect in attic. Moisture can enter attic from leaking vapour barrier in ceiling of home or even just having a poorly sealed attic hatch. Having adequate soffit venting and the proper amount of roof vents will ensure any heat or moisture entering attic is dissipated into the atmosphere.
